How do I know if I am getting enough sleep?

What are the Common Signs Associated with Sleep Apnea?

Is my sleep therapy system covered by insurance?

The positive air pressure systems are covered by Medicare and most other private insurance groups. How long will it take to get used to CPAP?

Most people adjust to CPAP within one or two weeks. Occasionally it may take a little longer if, for example, you are very sensitive to noise or the feel of the nasal mask on your face.

How soon after I start using treatment will it be before I notice an improvement?

You should notice an immediate improvement when you start treatment, though some people may take longer and need to be on therapy for weeks to see improvement .

How often will I need to use my CPAP machine?

You will need to use your CPAP machine every night of the week while you sleep. If you do not, you will return to your previous level or snoring, sleep apnea, and daytime tiredness.

Will I have to worry about changing the pressure on my positive airflow therapy device?

If your physician prescribes that you use a CPAP or bi-level system, then the pressure will remain at set levels throughout the night. Periodically it may be necessary to make minor adjustments.
